Pensdown named finalist for prestigious ECA Contractor of the Year Award 2026.

Pensdown is delighted to announce its selection as a finalist in the Contractor of the Year (up to £5 million turnover) category at the ECA Industry Awards 2026, recognising the family-run electrical contractor's continued growth, technical expertise and commitment to high-quality project delivery.

Pensdown's shortlisting reflects a standout year for the business, headlined by a landmark 765kW commercial solar PV installation with integrated battery storage at a major distribution facility in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. Delivered within a live operational environment and completed without a single incident, the project saw Pensdown design and build a bespoke 'PV Pod' to overcome restricted infrastructure space, alongside purpose-built installation templates developed in-house to ensure precision across more than 1,500 solar panels.

The recognition adds to a period of strong momentum for the business, which has grown its turnover to £2.7 million while continuing to strengthen long-term client relationships and expand its multidisciplinary electrical, structured cabling, audio-visual and renewable energy offering.

Phil Wiltshire, contracts manager at Pensdown, commented: "Being shortlisted for the ECA Contractor of the Year Award is a brilliant achievement for everyone at Pensdown. It's fantastic recognition for the hard work, innovation and attention to detail our team brings to every project, and it reflects what we set out to do as a business: deliver complex, high-quality work with the personal touch of a family-run company. We're incredibly proud to be recognised alongside some of the best contractors in the industry."

Judged by an independent panel, the ECA Industry Awards celebrate the very best of the electrical contracting sector, with judges this year noting the exceptionally high standard of entries and praising the dedication, professionalism and commitment shown across the board.

Held during the Electrical Contractor’s Association’s landmark 125th Anniversary year, the awards will be hosted by acclaimed journalist and broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy, with the evening’s celebrations compered by Alan Dedicoat, best known as the voice of Strictly Come Dancing.

The team at Pensdown looks forward to showcasing its exceptional work at the ECA Industry Awards Dinner, taking place on Friday 9th October 2026 at the Hilton Bankside Hotel, London.
