Delivering success in one of Britain’s biggest boardrooms
Pensdown, the electrical people, were chosen by one of the country’s largest and most successful energy and services companies, to modernise the boardroom at a new distribution centre as part of a strategy to improve collaboration and reflect a dynamic brand identity. The challenge was to create a space that was visually appealing and supported efficient video conferencing, complete with intelligent lighting, user-friendly power distribution and a sleek, professional aesthetic that incorporated the company’s distinctive brand.
Following a competitive tender, Pensdown collaborated with the client to design and deliver a comprehensive upgrade of the boardroom. The approach focused on creating a space that was both functional and stylish, ensuring all technical aspects were user-friendly.
Key elements of the project included the installation of a new MF plasterboard ceiling perimeter, vertical feature timber cladding and acoustic moss panels to improve aesthetics and acoustics.
LED lighting with adjustable scene settings to accommodate various moods and activities were added - together with a seamless AV system featuring Samsung commercial displays and Poly video conferencing equipment to deliver effortless connectivity and professional presentations. Installation of automatic blinds controllable at the touch of a button and the provision of easily accessible power outlets for all users, completed the project.
The result was a fully upgraded, functional boardroom that met all of the client’s needs. Feedback from the team has been excellent, with users appreciating the seamless integration of technology. Video conferences now run smoothly without the usual technical hiccups and the lighting adjusts automatically to suit different meeting types.
The automatic blinds make controlling the room's ambiance, quick and easy. Overall, the boardroom is now a space where efficiency meets aesthetics, making it a valuable tool for the company’s day-to-day operations.
